Half-life

Half-Life Visualizer

Visualize the theoretical mathematical decline of a user-entered amount over time.

Results

Enter a half-life, a visualization duration, a graph interval and a starting amount to see the model.

How the model works

  • Single entry: remaining = starting amount × 0.5^(elapsed ÷ half-life)
  • Repeated entries: total at time t = Σ entry amount × 0.5^((t − entry time) ÷ half-life)
  • Entries dated later than the point being drawn contribute zero.
  • One half-life leaves 50%, two leave 25%, three leave 12.5%.
